Submit your display for the Mayor’s Christmas Competition

Eastleigh's Mayor is running a Christmas Display competition open to all residents of Eastleigh Borough.

The deadline for new entries is 18th December 2026.

What is required?

To enter the competition you will need to provide:

  • Your contact details (so we can contact you about your entry).
  • At least one photo of your Christmas display, and an optional video.
  • A brief description about your display.
  • Your consent for us to display your entry on the website if selected.

Videos will need to be uploaded to YouTube, and you should provide the link to your video when submitting your entry.

Competition restrictions

The mayor's team will review all submissions and use their discretion to only approve displays that meet the competition criteria:

  • Residency: Entrants must be current residents of Eastleigh Borough.

  • Appropriate content: Entries must not contain offensive, illegal or inappropriate content.

  • Consent: Anyone submitting photos or videos featuring other people must ensure they have given their consent to be included.

  • One entry per household: Each household may submit one entry only.

  • Under-16s: Anyone under the age of 16 must ask a parent or guardian to submit an entry on their behalf.

Entries submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Safeguarding

Approved entries will be displayed on our website for the public to view and vote on, and we will only display:

  • The photos and videos provided by the participant.
  • The title and description provided by the participant.
  • The participant's full name and general location within the borough at a high-level without revealing the full address (e.g. Maggie Smith,West End, SO30).

Participants should ensure that any media they submit does not inadvertently reveal personal information, such as house numbers or identifiable landmarks.

Optional - YouTube Video URLProvide the URL of a YouTube video related to your entry (you will need to upload the video and set it to 'Public'). The form accepts most common YouTube URLs copied + pasted from your browser.
Your headline and overview for the Christmas display entryGive your Christmas display entry a title, a short and snappy headline sentence, and also provide a short overview detailing your display and the work you did.
